76 best ever 18 par 71 course playing off 13 at the time. Usually go around anywhere from 83 to 88 at the time. The key to having 76 this day was 3 birdies in addition to 6 x 1 putts. Didn't hit the ball any different from the usual mid 80's scoring day.

Hey Rick. I'm a brand new golfer, just trying to learn the game. Your videos have been really helpful so thanks for that. I'm curious if you could make a video (or if you have one and I haven't gotten to it yet) about how to know your distances. Is it hit 10 balls and take the average? 100 balls? I saw in one of your other videos and was planning on picking up a that Garmin Approach G80 then whacking balls. Thanks, I appreciate your work.

Hi Rick, i am a 20 handicap and only get to play about once a month. I have improved my game by 1 watching your videos but mainly by gripping down the club. I am looking at replacing my clubs as they are all second hand which I don't mind but they are dated. My woods are old peter allis tour 3. Very deep faced. Because i grip down the club i am thinking of buying ladies clubs. Do you think a lot of mid to high handicappers could improve their game buy using ladies clubs. They are also generally cheaper. I have a slow swing speed and i am in my 50's. So the more i think sbout it the more i think tbey may suit me better. Would be very imterested in hearing your thoughts on this. Maybe you could play some holes using a set of ladies clubs.

The biggest thing I did to help my golf game is stop thinking so much! I do my mental prep work before stepping up to the ball. When I do step up to take the shot, I line everything up and swing! When I was hovering over the ball for an extended amount of time, I started second guessing my club choice and thinking of all the bad things that could happen.

I wanted to learn about proper Golf swing and the guide was the very first guide I selected. They utilize essential information like your arm length, height, shoulder width, and club length to create a model perfect for you. Through the modules in the guide, I am able to decrease my handicap to 15 from 22 in a year. You can research this guidebook by Google. The name is Logan Ballοyshot every good wish

Great video...I employed different strategies for my level of golf. I used to play for 7 on every hole, that got me to around 115. Then 6 on every hole, got me in to the low 100's. Then 5 on every hole that got me through the 90's pretty quickly. Now I play for 4 on every hole and I find I get very few doubles or worse and consistant 1-6 over par.

    1. Colby Scanlon
      Colby Scanlon
      Vor 28 Tage

Personally for me it was a matter of going to a range with yardage markers, estimating those distances then playing a bunch of rounds keeping track of how far my drives are off the tee based on how far the hole is and how far I am away (simple math) and on approach shots seeing how far the hole is, hitting multiple clubs and seeing what seems to get the best yardages. It’s taken me about 6 months to a year to figure it out and these yardages may change but that’s the best way without having to pay for equipment imo.

I love all of these suggestions, and if I had to add just one thing: stop taking it seriously! It's just golf, there's no reason to get upset over a few (dozen) poor golf shots you hit on any given day. I've had rounds in tournaments where I've gone 51-38, simply because I stopped worrying about my score and enjoyed myself. A beer helps take care of this, but any more than one is unlikely to help your game.

Great advice. Most common (non-technical) mistake I see people make is under-clubbing iron shots. They hit one 7 iron shot 165 yards and think it's their club for that distance every time. These players never go past the green until they thin their pitch shot from short of the green.

I've used the positive thoughts technique for years. The advice I was given was that your mind "hears" the positive aspect of a negative thought; so "Don't hit it in the woods" will translate in your mind to "Hit it in the woods". I've used this in golf and also when I coached softball. Would never say to a player "Don't swing at a bad pitch", would always say to "Swing at a pitch you like".

Another great video. I am an enormous purveyor of visualising the positive shot for tee shots (and putting in particular too). I think when sky introduced the shot-tracer on TV coverage, it made many people do that same thing virtually in their mind, me included. The aiming reference is also key, I often talk to my playing group about the line intended and am lucky enough to hit it vaguely in that direction most of the time. At 51 with less rotation than most due to various ailments accumulated over the years, I just wish I could find more yardage with the driver !
